Automated Dynatrace Mode Switching Feasibility

This report evaluates the feasibility and viability of an automated solution for dynamically switching Dynatrace OneAgent monitoring modes—specifically between "Infrastructure" and "Full-Stack"—utilizing the Dynatrace API for mode changes and Ansible for subsequent, necessary process restarts. The primary objectives of this automation are to minimize human interaction, reduce the operational burden on server teams, and leverage late-night maintenance windows for execution.
